8 Ingredient Recipes

This is a catch-all category for all my 8 ingredient recipes so you can find them all in one place. To be clear, I define an 8-ingredient recipe as one that has a maximum of 8 ingredients, not including salt and pepper.

Read on for some recommendations for favorite recipes and to get an overview of the category.

Many of my recipes tend to have a lot of ingredients, but I like a simple recipe as much as the next person. And sometimes it’s really the only thing to do, especially if you have limited time.

It doesn’t necessarily take 47 ingredients to make a great recipe, and sometimes more is just more, and not necessarily better.

8-Ingredient Appetizers

You’d be surprised at all the deliciousness you can make for snacks with just a handful of ingredients.

Consider these 3-ingredient fried mozzarella sticks. Who’d have thought, right? Yet, they are super delicious and easy to make!

These little spent grain crackers are lovely on their own or alongside a bowl of soup or topped with cheese spreads or jam.

One of my favorite appetizers of all time has to be these poppy seed party ham biscuit recipe. I grew up eating them and this is the best recipe I’ve found for them–the original recipe from our neighborhood parties back in the 70s!

8-Ingredient Breads

You may be surprised to learn that most bread recipes, unless they have a lot of enrichments and mix-ins, are 8 ingredient recipes.

My grits bread is super flavorful and soft, stays fresh for days, and also makes excellent burger buns.

Savory pumpkin bread also contains 8 ingredients (not including what you need for the applique process) and is a lovely loaf to share at Thanksgiving.

These lovely cheese rolls are made with instant mashed potatoes and are great to serve along any meal. They’re soft and squishy and delicious!

8-Ingredient Ice Cream Recipes

overhead shot of homemade organic ice cream in a wooden bowlIf you’re ever looking for an easy dessert recipe, no-churn ice cream is the way to go. I have several examples on the site that contain 8 or fewer ingredients.

One of my favorites is this peppermint ice cream. Perfect for the holidays and so much tastier than store-bought.

Homemade caramel vanilla ice cream also is fabulous and clocks in at a mere 4 ingredients.

For a really special dessert, give my butterscotch creme brulee a try. With only 6 ingredients and step-by-step instructions, you can definitely master this spin on a classic.
