Flat dumplings are a southern specialty that get rolled out just like pie crust.
Instead of baking, cook them in a flavorful, boiling chicken broth so they end up tender and delicious.
Here's what you'll need to make tender, flavorful flat dumplings.
Using butter will yield good dumplings, but I like to use rendered bacon or chicken fat for more flavor. Poultry seasoning reinforces the flavor of the broth. You're going to love it!
2 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp kosher salt 1/4 tsp poultry seasoning 1/4 tsp pepper 2 Tbsp fat (bacon or chicken fat preferred) 3/4 cup whole milk

2)Cut in fat with your fingertips.
