The Best Chocolate Syrup Recipe

pastrychefonline.com

Most recipes for chocolate syrup call for 5 ingredients. Mine has 6, and it's the 6th ingredient that gives a deep backbone to the chocolate flavor. Don't leave it out!

Here's what you'll need to make this chocolate syrup recipe. See the next slides for amounts.

1 cup water 1 cup sugar 1/2 tsp instant coffee (secret ingredient!) 1/4-1/2 tsp kosher salt (I use Morton's) 1/2 cup cocoa powder 1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Bring water, sugar, coffee, and salt to a boil. Whisk in cocoa powder and boil for 5 minutes. Stir in vanilla off the heat.

NOTES

Using less-refined sugar yields more flavor. Use more or less coffee, to taste. Makes the world's best chocolate milk!

This syrup is also great on ice cream or stirred into coffee for a homemade mocha. Grab the recipe by clicking below, and see the next slide for more syrup and sauce recipes. Thanks!
