Decorate some Twinkies so they look like little Santa Clauses, and then enjoy them while watching Die Hard, the best Christmas movie ever! If you haven't seen it in a while, you'll soon get the connection between the movie and Twinkies!
Melt the candy melts according to package directions.
Use an offset spatula to spread the melted candy on the bottom half and top third of each Twinkie. The bottom half will be Santa's jacket, and the top third will be his hat. Let set up until firm.
Use a dot of decorator icing to attach the candy eyes and red hots to Santa's face.
Use the black decorator frosting to draw a 1/4" thick line of black about halfway down Santa's "jacket" to represent his belt.
Load your white buttercream into a piping bag fitted with a small star tip, and then pipe a big pompom on the top of Santa's hat and along the border of the hat.
Add eyebrows over the candy eyes, a mustache, and a long beard. Let the icing set up for at least 30 minutes and then enjoy over the next couple of days. Keep any leftovers at room temperature in a tightly-sealed container for 3-4 days.
Notes
Twinkies lend themselves to all sorts of decorations, so carry this idea on through the year. Use appropriate colors of candy melts and icings to make Leprechauns or gnomes, grinches or Minions. Enjoy!
