These homemade jelly donuts are made with a very wet and sticky dough that is 100% worth the trouble to make.

Mix all dough ingredients together in your stand mixer.Knead about 15 minutes or until dough clears the sides of the bowl. It will still stick in the bottom of the bowl. That's okay!
This dough is super sticky and soft.Oil your hands to gather it into a ball.
Let it rise for about an hour.
Heavily flour your surface and the dough to roll into a 1/2" thickness.
Cut into rounds for filled donuts, or you can use a regular donut cutter to make unfilled donuts with holes in them.
Let them rise until puffy, or refrigerate overnight.
Dough should ride high in the oil so that when they're done on both sides, there's a pale stripe in the center.
If your donuts sink or float low in the oil, they need more time to rise.
Fill and glaze.
Make the glaze thin so you can barely see it but it crackles when you bite into it.
