Delicious Apple Custard Pie
for a Crowd)
With a sweetened yogurt custard and warmly-spiced apples all nestled in a crunchy, crumbly, nutty cookie crust, it's hard to resist!
Here's what you'll need to make this pie.
There are 3 components to make:
1)The dough (click HERE) for recipe
2)The yogurt custard, which is very easy to make
3)The spiced apples. Your kitchen will smell so good!
Once you make and chill the dough, roll each piece out in parchment, then chill. Fit the first piece into your quarter-sheet pan. I love this versatile pan. Click HERE to see it on Amazon.
Whisk all the custard ingredients together. Let it sit for about 5 minutes so the sugar dissolves completely, then whisk again and pour into your lined pan.
Peel, slice, and cook the apples. Let them cool, and then spoon evenly over the custard. Top with a simple lattice crust (no need to weave!)
Eggwash the pastry, sprinkle with coarse sugar, and bake until deeply golden-brown and delicious. Cool the pie before slicing.
Serve warm, plain or with ice cream or softly whipped cream.
