Middle Eastern Walnut and Red Pepper Dip

Here's what you'll need to make this dip recipe.

Roast bell peppers. Toast walnuts and pine nuts. Chop green onions, hot pepper, and garlic. Measure your spices and liquids (pomegranate molasses, lemon juice, and olive oil.

Mise en Place

This dip couldn't be easier to make. Roast the peppers and toast the walnuts and pine nuts. Toss everything in your food processor.

Pulse in the bowl of your food processor until it's the consistency you like. Muhammara is generally fairly smooth, but you are welcome to pulse less for added texture.

One of the main flavor enhancers in muhammara is pomegranate molasses. Buy it at a Middle Eastern grocery or make it by reducing pomegranate juice on the stove.

Garnish with minced red pepper and green onion. Serve with warmed pita,  other flatbread, or vegetables.
