It’s weekly meal plan time again, friends! This week, you’re going to love the cool weather comfort food we have for you!
The Carolinas have just been hit for the second time in a month by a hurricane/tropical storm. And while NC is still reeling, I cannot imagine the devastation that folks in the panhandle of Florida and in southern Georgia are dealing with after Michael barreled through.
It has been quite a week or three, for sure. And I don’t know about you, but comfort food seems to be what I’m craving. If you are too, the Dinner Divas have you covered. Let’s get to it.
Cajun Spicy Tomato Soup from me. Make this as spicy as you like, or as mild as you like. But make it. The bacon and cheese croutons are very tasty. Or leave them as a sandwich to dip into your soup. Pure comfort, either way!
Slow Cooker Red Beans & Rice from The Speckled Palate. Nothing more comforting that red beans and rice. Pretty much nothing.
Potato Corn Chowder with Bacon from Pook’s Pantry. No words necessary for this comfort food from my Sissy, Cheryl. Potatoes, corn, bacon. Yup.
Slow Cooker Chicken and Wild Rice Soup from Comfortably Domestic. Another gorgeous and comforting cream soup–a canned classic that’s so much better when made from scratch!
Classic Reuben Sandwich from Country Cleaver. Have mercy. I mean, seriously.
Day of the Dead Cupcakes from Pook’s Pantry. These cutie chocolate cupcakes have a bit of heat as a nod to Mexico. Your whole family will enjoy them!
The Best Pumpkin Bread from Comfortably Domestic. Kirsten says this is the best. And I believe her. I mean, look at that sugar-sanded top and that sexy curved crack running through it! Huge coffee chain: eat your heart out!
And that takes us to the end of this week’s meal plan post, friends! I hope you’ve found something to comfort you, body and soul. Enjoy the recipes and, if you’ve had a rough week or two, please be kind to yourselves.
So, what will you be making for dinner this week? Let me know in the comments!
Take care, and have a lovely day.
