So, what’s Food52sday anyway?
Friends, after my Rant from yesterday, it was all I could do to unwrap my bonbons and get them to my mouth, so choosing this week’s Food52sday Recipe Inspiration was more than I was equipped to handle. Fortunately, you guys were more than up to the task. I gave you three choices, and Simple Summer Peach Cake won.
Which is a Happy Thing indeed because NC peaches are luscious and juicy right this very minute. Plus, blackberries. This cake is kind of similar to the brown butter blueberry buckle I made last week, and I’m looking forward to maybe bringing some brown butter to this party, too. But with peaches, nutmeg and almond, I’m pretty sure there’s no way to go wrong.
If you’d like to bake along, and I really hope you’ll participate. Here’s the original recipe for Simple Summer Peach Cake by Food52 member Savour. She also has a blog called that Savour Fare that I just visited a few minutes ago in the Course of my Research, and it turns out that she has just had a baby boy! Congratulations on the addition of the Little Savour!
So now I’m making my interpretation into a Welcome Baby cake. Because the Opportunity has presented itself, and I really do believe that everything happens for a reason. I mean, look at his little face!
See you back here next Tuesday with my interpretation. If you bake along, please add your link in the comments and I’ll add it to the post. Or, if you’d rather or if you don’t have a blog, please feel free to post your results on the fan page.
Thanks, and have a lovely day.
