In Which I Must Temporarily Forgo The Fun of the PMAT Blog to Deal with Some PCO Nuts and Bolts

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0M7ibPk37_U&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b]Henri, I feel your pain.

Alas friends, I have been putting this off for Ever and Ever.  “Putting off what?” you ask.  Well, as you may already know, the Amazing Linda has designed a Super Duper Site pour moi, and now poor moi has to build 456,000 links.  Give or take.  As you can imagine, this falls under the category of Drudgery.  While it’s not technically Sisyphusian, the hill is Very steep and the boulder does scratch my delicate hands, and peering up from the bottom to the Top, where I should have been months ago, fills me with Ennui.

Finally, the time has come.  I cannot hide from the Link Purgatory any longer.  So, I shan’t be writing any more posts for a few days.  I have Promised myself and a friend who also plays the role of a Life Coach on occasion, that I will be finished with the Linking Process by the end of the week.  Sigh.  And sigh again.  The good news is that I will be done Soon.  The bad news is that I have to Do It.  But it must be done, and I can no longer shy away because I loathe the mind numbing boredom and repetition of Creating Links.  I have to be a Grown Up and just get all Nike on the site’s ass.

Once I’ve finished my assigned linking task, I shall beg the Amazing Linda to help me go over the Whole Deal with a fine toothed comb,  making sure all the links work and that I didn’t Screw Anything Up.  Once all the Eyes have been Dotted and Tees have been Crossed–when my Eyes are Crossed and my Tees are all dotted–I will re-launch Pastry Chef Online in all its new and shiny glory.  I will let you know when that happens.

Please send Fervent Wishes that my eyes don’t fall out of my head, that I don’t stab myself with a spoon, and that I maintain some semblance of Sanity during this, my self-imposed exile from PMAT fun.  I will see you all in a few days.  Thanks, friends!

I kind of did a few most recent ones and left the others in “unpublished” state. Once in a while I pull one up to link to it, but if I’m not feeling the need, and no one’s asking for it…it can wait until I’m bored enough to do it. May that day never come.

I admire your resolve. I hope some serious drugs and/or alcohol are involved. If you’re doing it without, then you are indeed an Olympian.

    Poor Henri. What a gem.

    Good luck. Bon Chance!

Thanks, Jacqueline. I need all the bon chances (and mojitos) I can get! :)

    Sucks to be you.

Well, for a few days, after which it becomes cool as hell to be you.

I’ve been putting off the same thing since back when, “Oh my God, making sure nearly a hundred posts are all updated will take forever!” So I put it off, and will someday have to make sure over 300 posts are updated. Could be 400 by the time I get off my ass and do it.

    I am a dummy.

No you are just gripped by Ennui. It’s always Ennui’s fault, Drew! ;)

My your eyes remain firmly socketed in your head no matter how grueling the computer scape ahead of you; and may you emerge from your private battle-of-linkatude a valiant warrior ready to blog once again!

I enjoyed your blog — a nice surprise discovery for me today.

I’ll pass “Henri” on to some cat owners in need of a dose of feline dispassionata.

    cheers

Thanks, DrJamm! I think I should cross stitch your blessing–it’s way better than the Irish blessing about roads rising to meet you, blah, blah, blah!

Glad you found me; with luck, and your blessing, I’ll be back soon!

Jenni – Good Luck!! If there’s anything I can do to help, let me know as I have had my hours severely cut at work and have nothing better to do, LOL. I can’t wait to see the new site – gonna be awesome :)

Judi, you are so sweet! I really appreciate the support. :)

Are you moving the site to a new domain or just updating the design? I always love to see new web sites and yours is no different. Best of luck! I can’t wait. :)

    • http://www.pastrychefonline.com onlinepastrychef

Thanks, Shane! I’m updating the design and making the navigation much more user friendly. I’ll also have a store, and I’ll be switching the blog over from wordpress.com to .org and changing its design to match the new site. Exciting, but a little overwhelming, especially because I’m a true novice when it comes to all the behind-the-scenes web stuff.

Here’s hoping that your links are linking, your eyes have not fallen out and that the new site is starting to look all shiny and lovely!

    • http://www.pastrychefonline.com onlinepastrychef

Yup, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and I’m pretty sure it isn’t a train or other Large Deadly Vehicle! Hooray!

The Henri video made me depressed and weepy (Thank you, peri-menopausal hormones) and the thought of my dear internutty friend facing that linky mountain made me sob unconsolably.

I care that much. Yes, I do!

    • http://www.pastrychefonline.com onlinepastrychef

I didn’t mean for Henri to infect you with his ennui, friend! Weep not, Groovy, for I am almost finished with my monumental task! :D

    Hi Jenni,

Hope you are getting through your tedious chore!! Hope it doesn’t take too much longer..

Have you seen the snippet of Adam’s song for the 2012 movie yet? If not you better head over to MJ’s Stat!

Glee was good this week too.. What a crack-up that Sue Sylvester is.. Her one liners are so hilarious!

Also, I was wondering if you have seen the movie Julie & Julia with Meryl Streep? It looks pretty good.. It has just opened here in Australia and I may go and see it with my daughter.

    Keep smiling :)

    Tracey.

Hi, Tracey–thanks for checking in! I was OOT this weekend, but I did indeed see Adam’s 2012 song preview–wow!!!! It is Awesome!!!!

I’m done w/my part of the chore, more or less. I’m trying to touch base w/my web person, and we keep missing each other. Hopefully I can have the new site up in the next few days. That’s the goal, anyway:)

Haven’t seen Julie and Julia. Will probably Netflix it when it’s available.

Hope all is well in Australia, and thanks again for checking in. I’ll be posting again tomorrow, finally!

        Hi Jenni,

Just seeing “His Highness The Dark Lord Screamanova” singing again was a total OMG moment for me. :) I realised how much I’ve missed hearing him sing something new! I have downloaded all his AI songs and have kind of worn them out (almost). Lol. You and your mum were so lucky to see him in the flesh! I wish he would come down to Aus and visit.. (I sound like such a fangirl.. wait, I am a fangirl, a pretty old one too. lol)

I should say something about food, this is a food blog isn’t it? :) Well ok, on the weekend I made some plain and some fruit scones (you would call them biscuits I think), some lemon curd and some potato and leek soup (Not together lol). Not bad but the lemon curd turned out a bit grainy. I could probably use the curd in a lemon coconut slice and no one would know, would they? :P

We are coming into Spring here, although you wouldn’t know it as it’s been unusually cold this last month. Soon BBQ season will be upon us and I’m also looking forward to some nice Summery desserts!

I look forward to reading your post and here’s a link for you to reward you for all your hard work. :) I hope the beloved doesn’t mind. :) The first two pics are the best!

        Tracey.
